Learning Opportunities/Events
SCSN has recently reviewed it’s offering on training and following this review we have moved away from traditional training courses and toward providing learning opportunities for the community safety sector. These learning opportunities have taken the shape of an offer of a series of ‘Masterclass’ events on a range of relevant topics, where we bring in experts in the field to share their expertise, provide a forum for discussion and then disseminate what learning we have taken from these events to our partners.
Recent Masterclass Events we have run are:
The Local Governance Review: what does it mean in a community safety context? – 30 October 2018
Participatory Budgeting, Partnerships and Safer communities – June and September 2018
Measuring Outcomes and Learning in Complex Systems – September 2018
In addition to this, and as part of our commitment to using technology, we have recently expanded this offering to include recording presentations and disseminating videos from these events. This means that if you can’t make it to one of our events, for selected events you will still be able to view presentations and other short video content from events, giving you a real flavour of what was discussed. Check out our Youtube channel for available videos.
Toolkits and other resources
We continue to provide a wide range of toolkits and guidance documents, many of which have been developed by expert groups in the community safety field which can provide some really useful assistance in local planning. You can find these toolkits and resources here.
